Our Project Cars
We currently have three cars lined up for restoration: a '63 TBird Sports Roadster, a '62 TBird hardtop and a '64 Thunderbird convertible
We were at a car show in Carson City, NV with our '62 convertible when a guy came up and said he had a car just like ours in a carport in Northern California. He said it was in rough shape but the engine had been rebuilt and someone had told him that it was a real Roadster. He had bought it for his wife but had no interest in restoring and just wanted to sell, he was wondering if we were interested. The car was safely tucked away in our garage 2 days later.
We bought our '64 convertible from a friend in Petaluma, CA. He's is the ultimate TBird guy with barns full of great cars and lots of parts. Unfortunately for this old bird, his peacocks liked to sit up on the convertible frame and relieve themselves! We liked it anyway and someday soon it is going to be beautiful!
We found our '62 hardtop in Reno, it was sitting out in front of a home running at 7500 rpm just to keep it from stalling. Originally we were going to part it out, then restore it and sell it as a daily driver. The more we looked the more we were sure that this car wanted to spend the rest of it's days as a modified, "restyled" TBird. So now it waits it's turn as we work on design plans for it...definitely custom seats, stereo...maybe a moon roof?
